Default Beautifull tires scared on the corner

I just got a new set of tires. KDW G-Force. Wonderfull tires. Unfortunately on the side of the fron tires the side that you see on the corners is scared. Way more than on any tire. Is this normal? Or are they not balanced correctly. Even worse on my old tires this spot was very scared and worn. Looks ugly, but I don't think its bad or anything. Does anyone have this problem on their sport tires?

Either an alignment problem, or a frequent rubbing caused by scuffing against the curbs. Is it both front tires, or just the passenger side? My wife's E-150 van has a similar problem only on the passenger side....but both tires....from curb kissing. The fact that it is occuring on a second set of tires is a clear indication that it is not the fault of the rubber.

I doubt that two sets of balancing efforts would produce two sets of improper balancing techniques.

And, why not the rears? Why aren't you rotating your tires? Shame, shame.....if you're not.

Sorry your tires are frightened - they'd be much happier if you had your car aligned properly -

Main Entry: 3scar
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): scarred; scar·ring
transitive senses
1 : to mark with a scar
2 : to do lasting injury to
intransitive senses
1 : to form a scar
2 : to become scarred

Antartican - the alignment must be WAY off for you to immediately notice this on new tires - you want to get this looked at right away - the drawing sort of shows how the tire would contact the road if not aligned properly. You can see they'd sit square on the road if the tire was straight up & down. There is more to the alignment but gives you an idea. Fiat Freak correct as well - should be rotating tires. What tire pressures are you running & when was the last time the car was aligned? Sorry to bust your chops at first (a person is scared or frightened; if you get cut you will become scarred.)

And, yes, it is bad - an alignment that far off contributes to really poor handling and ruins your tires, ie, the car is unsafe.

Good point, MEATBALL. Severely mis-aligned front ends are potentially dangerous....but only if the vehicle is moving above 1-2 miles per hour.

I had a tie rod bust on me once. Fortunately, it was during a 90 degree crank from a dead stop at a corner. The harder I turned the wheel the further the two tires went in opposite directions. Man was that fun (not). If I had been at speed....well, I wouldn't be typing this today.

Feel like we're missing some info. here - how many miles are on new tires to have them worn already - what does this car do if you let go of the steering wheel - etc. I'd have been at the alignment shop this morning.
