Default Water leaks and sloshing noise in a 99 ragtop

Hi all,

My sister has a 99 Mustang convertible. She has a leak when it rains, and can hear a sloshing sound, like accumulated water in the hat rack area. Since I have a convertible too, it sounds a common problem to Miatas. On a Miata soft top, there is a rain rail at the bottom/back of the top where it attaches to the body. It acts as a gutter, and channels the water to two darinage areas inside the car. These drainage areas empty out to two small pipes/tubes that allow the water to drain outside the car. Ideally, this works great. However, these tubes can get filled w/debris, even though they have a flapper valve at the bottom. When this happens, the water has no where to go. Does the Mustang have a similar set-up?

Thanks,

Tha Captain
