Default increase performance in 02 mustang

i recently bought an 2002 mustang GT and i am totally impressed but i want to increase performance without decreasing ecomony too much, I did a cat back and have also installed a Knn air filter.

I would like to add a performance chip but would like some input into the effects it will have in both increased performance and the effect it will have on fuel economy.

any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

thank you,

Keith

Personally, I would go with the programmer first then the gears and then the pulleys.

The programmer will give you a little power and be able to correct the speedo for the gears.

Do a search on google for programmer info or check out the thread going on right now in the 4.6L tech forum about the Diablo Predator.
No disrespect to darkness, but I don't think it would be worth buying a CAI after already buying a K/N filter. For the extra $150 you might get another 2-3hp. It will look nicer under the hood though.

buying the programmer first isn't bad idea
You'll need it when you have the gears installed (or install them yourself)
so, yes, programmer, then gears.

There is a thread at the forum on www.mustangtuning.com about the diablo that includes discussion of a group purchase which would reduce the price to around $300, perhaps a bit less. I have a 2002 gt and use the tuner, and it is one handy little piece of technology. I understand that you can also enhance its usefulness through the pc link available either through granatelli's web site or (if you're handy with such things) by buying a compatible cable from Radio Shack (haven't done this, though some others have). This gives you access to other functions (again, I have yet to explore this avenue).

luck
