Default Correct tire pressure for 265/35/18

I have been having some trouble determining the right tire pressure for this application 265/35/18. Some have suggested 32psi which I will try but there are different max pressures stamped on all different tires some are 35 max psi I noticed and 45 psi. I have been told that inflating to the max psi will cause a bad ride. Please help

PSI, as opposed to 'CSI'

Sure, you've heard of "C-S-I" -- but do you know your P-S-I?

P-S-I stands for "pounds per square inch" and it's how tire pressure is measured. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says more than a quarter of the vehicles on the road have at least one tire seriously under-inflated.

----------
But NHTSA (NIHT'-suh) administrator Jeffrey Runge (RUHN'-gee) says what you don't want to do is pump up your tires to that number that's printed on their sidewalls. That's usually the maximum inflated pressure.

He says the correct pressure number can be found on the door jamb inside the door on the driver's side. It's called "placard pressure" because it's printed on a placard, and it's the proper tire pressure for your car, to provide the best handling, comfort and fuel economy.

During this National Tire Safety Week, Runge wants to put people in the habit of checking the air in their tires. He says a five-minute walk around your car with a tire gauge can do a lot for fuel economy -- and for safety.

NHTSA says 660 people die each year in crashes related to low tire pressure.

MAN YOU WERE RIGHT!
What a difference I couldnt belive it! My car improved in performance and the ride quality the tires really stuck to the road a lot better it was like it was on rails on the curves. I still probably need to invest in some better shocks and struts later on but this helped alot thanks. I love driving my car again!

Great - the lower tire pressure allows the sidewalls to flex and keep the tread surface able to maintain a flat contact patch. It's ability to flex soaks up the bumps instead of transmitting them to your 'teeth' - I'd still monitor your thread and/or call the place you bought the tire/wheel setup or TireRack to get opinions on the correct pressure. I run 32 rear, 34 front in a 17" series wheel tire combo. As I said previously, even a change of 2 lbs makes a difference in feel - so experiment a bit. Try 32 rear, or 30 rear. I can't see needing more than 34 front but can be wrong. Just for a giggle: in NASCAR and Formula One, quarter-pound tire pressure changes are common to adjust handling.

http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=658796 - this thread is about the Bullitt suspension kit (springs/shocks) and if can be had for the price he said he paid from Summit (they're out of stock right now - I called) would be great deal especially if you added the sway bars later. www.imboc.com is the Bullitt Club site if interested. Happy the car feels better now - drive safe and check the pressure every couple of weeks at least. Remember to have some rotation schedule (front to rear, etc., not side to side)

45 psi. is way to much tire pressure.34-36 psi. is more like it.
I run 36 psi. in all four tires and I have no problems.I belive
anything from 34-36 psi. is safe for the tires and car.

The tag in my glove box says 30 psi for the 245/45/17. I run 32 psi and have 275/40/17. The ride is great and I know you should always have at least what the tag says, but a little more is OK too. I would try a little lower than 34 to see how it rides. Remember the proper way to check the pressure is cold, like before you even drive the car in the morning.
