Default DO NOT REMOVE THE FUEL RAILS

All you have to do is remove the screw for the Coil Packet, It has a long rubber boot that is flexable and can be pulled out without the fuel rail coming off. Then all you need a Wobble Socket with a long extension. You should be able to replace all Plugs in about 20 minutes.

I looked at the 2000+ mustangs yesterday and something didn't look right. The coil packs were gone!! I'm used to them being right up front. It has taken me awhile to get used to the 4.6L and they change it again. The 302 were so much easier.

PEOPLE YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE FUEL RAILS TO CHG THE PLUGS IN A 2000 GT!!
Trust me I did it about a month ago.And yes I was prepared to remove the rails but some one on stangnet said not to. When you unscrew the pack and unplug the fi just pull it up, its a long rubber pc. So yes it will bend no prob.TRUST ME. Also on the drivers side where the the gas enters the rail you will have to have an extension to get past that pc.
the only prob i had was with the next to the last plug on the passenger side just be careful and you shouldnt have a problem. I rushed it and tore the pack from the boot
(If you have to replace a pack you will need prt no. dg-491 not dg-492 again trust me) If anyone doesnt beleive me try it with one plug it will only take a sec.

Haven't repalced my plugs on my '00 yet...Good thread for my personal info.
Not on the fuel rail issue, but don't forget to apply the dialectric grease on the boots when you reinstall them on the new plugs. It will save alot of cussing the next time you change them plus maybe some ruined plug wires and I don't think the factory uses the stuff durnig production making the first removal tricky whithout ruining some of the wires. Oh BTW if they are coil on plug use the grease as well around the coils. You'll cry if you have to replace one of those if you crack it.
