Default DeMolet CAI

I put my CAI on today. Wow, I didn't know what to expect but I am very pleased. I put on the DeMolet tunable induction. The tubes are painted dark shadow grey with clearcoat just like my car. A very large conical filter points down in the fenderwell. I didn't put the dragon t/b or plenum on. After the problems someone "heard" about I'm going to have a pro do that. Anyway, I can't say anything about hp or trq but the rumble is louder, there is a definate improvement in throttle response and with the peddle down and the rpms hitting 4-5000 it flat screams! You can hear the air being sucked in and I swear I don't know what a CAI would have to do with it but the trans seems to shift crisper.

very cool - hope you had time to take a pic or two and send to me via email. Am happy you like it. Will be interesting to see how throttle response seems after TB/Plenum install. Are you tracking gas mileage before/after?

mornin all. I think the problems that you heard people were having we not because of the install itself, just the T/B and plenum combination in general. If you can put on a CAI then you can easily put on the plenum and T/B yourself.

Larry has found a friend w/the necessary tools to help w/the TB/plenum install. He just couldn't wait until the guy had some time and put the CAI on himself. He bought the complete filter to plenum setup from DeMolet and had them paint tubes to match his car (sent me a pic) - it's really nice looking. Was a decent deal as a complete setup.

Well thanks for the greetings! My post was feeling a little lonely there. Bluestreak, I hope your wrong more than you know. I read a post from a guy who said most of the problems people were experiencing was from improper setting of the TPS voltage and I don't know hoiew to do that. I'm dying to put the TB/Plenumon. Hey Meatball, wrote you a few times, did you get them? I know I didn't stump you.

That's false because the plenum and throttle body combo's are known to give problems. It's not the TPS voltage it's the plenums themself's that
cause the problems. From what I have heard on this forum and alot of
other forums stay away from the Accufab and Dragon plenums because
they are known to give your car idleing issues and drivablity problems!
I wouldn't touch a Accufab or Dragon plenum with a hundred foot stick.
The Trickflow plenum seems to be a great buy and it looks good under
the hood also! Trickflow Plenum :thumbsup

JEER - we need some links or hard data about Dragon problems; I can't find anything about what you said.

Meatball this needs no justification. It's no mystery the Accufab
and Dragon Plenums are known to give your mustang idleing
issues and drivablity problems as Jeer stated above.
I belive he had the Accufab Plenum and had problems with it.
The TPS isn't the fix the plenums' themselfs' are what cause
the problem.I would never purchase a Accufab or Dragon anyway.
I never heard of anyone having problems with the Trickflow plenum.
If I ever do purchase a plenum it will be the Trickflow plenum no
question. All the plenums preform just about the same so,you don't
choice the plenum you want on performance but, looks.

Well I want justification! 'course I'll get it one way or the other when I put it on. Darkness, you'll either be my hero or I'll have to find a friendly way to insult you.

Kiss my *** Accufab!
Darkness is correct I had the Accufab plenum for two weeks and I had
nothing but, problems with it.Me and my mechanic tryed to fix it.We tryed
fixing the TPS sensor to the correct voltage and it didn't do a thing. He
also diagosed my mustang on his computer and no luck.My idle was
stuck at 2K rpm and my mustang would idle funny plus shake like a leaf.
I would also heard this odd hissing sound under low to mid accelration.
Since me and my mechanic couldn't fix it I ended up selling it on Ebay for
half of what I payed for it and took the loss.I ended up just installing the
stock plenum back on and there were no problems. From the issues and
problems I have heard over the years about the Accufab and Dragon plenums
I would never get one period. If I keep my car I will be getting a Trickflow
plenum for my car because I like the style of it plus it's a great buy.
As Darkness said this needs zero justification Larry.

Maybe I'll get the one that works. Are the problems with the tb also or just the plenum?
