Default PI Headswap VS Supercharger..& the winner is..

PI Headswap. So I FINALLY got my PI Headswap Kit and a couple of other goodies installed last week. The car feels much different now. It's quicker and noticeably more responsive. Wish I could have done this years ago!! The owner of the shop I went to said that there was no break in time needed. I was wondering if any of you guys that have done the swap waited a couple hundred miles before going WOT???

Thats awsome manichispanic, but I expected a little closer to 250 rwhp. It is still higher than a stock 99+, so thats good. So, what did you end up paying for the install? Also did you have a before dyno to compare.

Had a conversation with a dude said he worked at a speed shop who was pleased with 230 rwhp after a PI swap. Manic has a successful outcome, in my book!

Congrats!

Thanks Fellas!!! Although I was hoping for a lil over 250 rwhp I am very pleased with the outcome. I did not get a dyno reading before the swap so I really dont know what the exact power difference was. How much power do I lose because im an Auto..10%-15%?? The only other power mod I see in the future might be some VT cams.

OH.. its an auto. I just assumed it was a 5 speed. The auto does take a bit more of the power than a 5 speed. Don't sweat it, those are nice numbers.

Those are some really good numbers, especially considering it's an auto. That works out to ~300 flywheel horsepower and ~355 flywheel ft-lbs of torque. My 04 with a 5 speed and pretty much the same mods only makes around ~285 flywheel ponies and ~335 flywheel ft-lbs of torque so don't be discouraged, you're making good power.

I have a friend in Morristown,TN (Noe's Performance 423-317-7272 ask for Scott) who loves to work on Mustangs, told me that depending on the condition of the 4.6L he usually sees around 250hp for a auto & 280+hp for a manual when doing the PI swap, exhaust,CAI, and tune. Throw in a set of sticks and get over 300hp with a 5spd at the wheels. He spends a lot of time at the dyno's custom burning programs for the upgrades his customer does to their cars. When I take mine for the PI swap I will have before and after dyno numbers to list on the net so I can see how close his numbers really are.

97GT 5spd
BBK Ceramic long tubes
BBK cat x-pipe
Magnaflow Magnapacks catback
Tremec TKO 5spd
Ram Flywheel & Powergrip clutch
FRPP alum. driveshaft

Cobra 13" Front brake kit
Also SCT xcal burner
