Default 03 Mach 1 Newbie question

Out of all the Mustangs made the original 1965-1967 coupe and all the Mach 1's have been my favorites. So when I say my 03 Mach 1 at a dealer I had to buy it. I'm just curious though, where does it rank on the list of all time stock Mustangs. I'm talking dead stock hp. I see lots of talk about older Mustangs and 5.0's but a lot of my friends who have those can't get enough of my car. I hardly ever read something about the Mach 1. Little help here please...

That's a tough question. As fas as late models, the only thing with more power (mass produced) is the cobra, saleen S/C and Roush 3 . I would say overall cube for cube you have one of the best mustangs produced through all the years (N/A).......I'm not sure if that was any help.

I think it is a great car. They did a good job of bringing back the shaker hood and if I could have found one while I was looking for my GT, I would have gotten it. Having a Cobra engine with no supercharger, it is quicker to see gains when modding than the base GT. Also, they did a good job on the exterior of the car. Look how many GTs out there (including myself) are buying the Mach accessories.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Back in the day, like '73 and below?, didn't they calculate horsepower differently. Cars back then made more advertised hp due to being dyno'd with no accessories (IE: A/C) attached unlike today the dyno numbers reflect hp# with all the accessories attached.

But I would say your Mach1 ranks up there with the best of them.

the mach 1 is one of the greatest mustangs directly from Ford aside from the 03/04 Cobras.....it has an 01 cobra block, shaker hood, 4 valve, and is rated the same HP as the 99-01 Cobras.....also it looks sweet....u are a lucky guy....

Not bad for 20,000...I was just wondering how it ranked up there...I know it had to be pretty good considering each article I ever read on it praised it a lot. But reading through forums and stuff I hardly ever hear about it...thats why the confusion and doubt. But I love it nonetheless. A friend of mine had an older mach 1, the one that looks like the speed racer car and he cant get enough of my car. Pretty nice knowing I show up to visit the family and a whole 20 minutes are all spent outside with everyone admiring my car and watching all the dad's look it over...makes me wonder what they're thinking???

I decided the only way I would get a new edge car would be if it was a Mach. I absolutly love the Competition Orange. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6236 I can already think of mods for it.... 17x10.5 Mach wheels, off road X, etc...

LOL... Yea I'm scared to see whats under that stupid bra. My car came with one in the trunk from the previous owner. I put it on once just to change up the look. It started rubbing the paint off the car on hte edges. Never again, unless the car becomes a total piece or I need to hide a boo boo. O yea, I would also get the 10.5 inch wide reproduction wheels for the back and some big wide meats.

with today's economy i would not pay anything over 13-14 grand for a mach 1. their prices have dropped significantly over the past year.
