 spark knock!!
A little while ago i noticed that my car felt like it was misfireing while at 1200-1500 rpms. so i took it to school and i scanned it and the scanner said spark knock unerd heavy acceleration. so i switched the plugs and i put the coil tester (spark tester, goes between the coil and spark plug so you can see it spark) and i put the e-brake up and i pushed the brake down all the way and i brake torqued it so i could get into the right rpm range. everything looked ok. but the problem was still happening. so today i was looking at my engine and i noticed while looking at it that the rear two coils on the left side are kinda tricky to get off and back on. so i took them off and looked at them and i noticed on the coil there is an arrow and there is an arrow on the boot. why are they there?? because only those two were off. could the boot have been touching metal and arcing to cause the spark knock? i havnt drove it yet so i dont know if it is fixed. but i just want to know if anyone else has some answers or has had the same problem. |
