Default Cold Air Intake

Ok guys. I hope I dont get flammed here, but here I go. I did a search for Cold air intakes or CAI using the search button(duh!) and i really didnt find enough information to make me want to buy one. I know that MAC makes one for my car(listed in my sig) but i dont know which one i need? 2v or 4v? Also, I looked at BBK's website and didnt find any intakes for my car. I know that densecharger has one also. Anyone with dynos, comments, which ones you have will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Well, the GT is the 2 valve, and the Cobra is the 4 valve. Now that that's out of the way, get the two valve kit. Mac and bbk both make quality kits for your application.

Hey thanks a lot for the pic! So the BBK filter is inside the fender?

I know I've said this in other posts, but I think its worth repeating. I have K&Ns FIPK Gen II on my 99gt, and I love it. The fenderwell mounted systems my offer slightly cooler air based on their location, but the K&N offers me the ability to clean my filter without hassle because its in the engine bay and easily accessible.

I also like the abilitly to monitor my filter everytime I pop the hood.

Just my .02

Later, Guys

Jason

Ive researched the FIPK and I dont think its worth it because it sits in the engine bay rather than being a true cold air(inside the fender well or away from the engine heat) Ive just heard soo many good things about the bbk and the mac cold air systems. So other than summitracing, anyone know of any other good websites?

Another place to go is www.c-f-m.com. They seem to be either right on target for prices with summit and jegs or $10 cheaper. When I had an issue with the pulleys that I bought they were quick to exchange for a different set, and willing to work with me. I would highly recommend these guys.

Go with the MAC. It supposedly runs cooler then the BBK. I think even though they may look identicle they are made of different types of steel. Also, I have a friend with the BBK and he said that the boots for the MAC on my car are a lot neater and better fit. Just a bit better manufacturing. Go to www.stangnet.com for reviews on CAI.
