i did the gas pedal mod that is posted on this website. http://mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/99pedals.htm
Now are you supposed to notice a difference in power at all? Also how do you know if the clamp that you put on has become loose. Not fallen off but loose? Because i got use to the difference and i can not feel the difference in it anymore.

The only differenence you might noticed would be if you couldn't get wide open throttle before the upgrade (hitting the floor before the accelerator is pressed all the way in). No power increases, just insurance you can get all the power the engine is capable of.
As for telling if it is loose, wouldn't the pedel return back to the original position if it does? I wouldn't worry too much about it getting loose. and if you are, just get some locktite to keep everything nice and tight.
that seems like a pretty good idea. It is almost impossible for me to heel and toe in my car because of the depth of the pedal. I am going to do this mod.
Legien- that was the exact samething that i did with the 99+ model. It really did help. you will really notice a difference when you are just starting off. At least i did. It felt like as if the car jumped a little bit more than stock. Tell me if you were successful!

Ok, I've seen this pedal mod everywhere. I only have one question. Can someone explain in more depth the nylon spacer? What size is it and how long is it? Nowhere does anyone explain that part of the install?
Help Please! I would like this mod but I'm confused!
The nylon spacer is like a little washer but it is thicker in material and it is palxtic. I think i used a 1'' spacer and 1 small hose clamp, i mean the hose clamp is very small. It is a real tight fit to get under neath to get to you the top of your gas pedal. I also did not take/remove anything off like they say too. I am small so i get in their but it was a nice tight fit like i said before.
I got the spacer at Home Depot and the small hose clamps as well

I did this mod also; the smaller you are the easier it will be to get under the steering column upside down. I'm 6' 3" and had little elbow room but got it done. When putting the spacer on the cable I took out the plastic gizmo(?) in the pedal opening and inserted it into the top of the spacerleaving an open notch int the pedal) to make better contact with the cable end(see 2nd paragraph). There is less lag-time during acceleration by taking up the slack in the pedal. That's the "perceived" performance that you get and I liked it. The 1" nylon spacer can be found at Home Depot in the nuts/bolts isle in the specialty drawers; just a heads up as to where I found them.
I have only had one problem after doing this mod. On the top of the accel. pedal there's an open notch that the cable can slip out of and while letting off the accelerator (possibly kicked it with my toe) the little slack that was left in the pedal caused the cable to slip out of the notch leaving me to idle on the side of the road. It just slipped back in after I panicked as to what the hell I did wrong.

I took a look at this a few times and it wasn't until I tooked at my car that everything clicked. This is something that I will definatly try. I think that I will take a little different approach at this but the concept will be the same.
I Love do it yourself free mods!!!

Just got done taking a peak under the hood and then the gas pedal is down to the ground as is it still gets to full throttle. The mod may help in response time but not in getting you more gas, Just my observation though. that won't stop me from doing it though!

Well I was there, it was tight, very tight, but I got the job done and I am very happy. The pedals are much closer together, Driving is much easyer. When you have it to the ground you don't feel like the ground is in the way. I have only the best to say of it. I took wire loop clamps and ground off one side and squeezed that on so it hold great and is strong. I think everyone should do this mod.
