I have a 01 gt with cai and flowmaster exhaust and iv been running a 75 shot on a totally stock motor for a while and its been fine....recently i bought 1 step colder plugs and i put a 90 shot on....u think it should be safe to use?????
As long as the tune is good and the A/F ratio is safe for nitrous you should be fine. Might want to think about dropping to a 180F thermostat to go with the colder plugs.

That would be part of the tune. I personally don't have any experience with tuning for N2O so I don't think I could help you in that department.

my friend had his old v6 with a 75 shot and he had the lower thermostate and the colder plugs plug he had it dyno tuned.it was a NX hit he never had any problems with it.
i believe he got from 185rwhp and 210rwtq he jumped to 246rwhp and 366rwtq only prob was the peak tq was at 2grand.

I dont think you will need a tune for that small a shot. But I do agree that you need to get it on a dyno to check the A/F ratio. I have the colder plugs and the cooler thermostat with the timing advanced with no problems on a 75 wet shot. The wet kits seem to be more forgiving in this department. Remember that your system is a nonreturn system and the fuel tends to run hotter. If you are worried about the timing, just put a timing adjuster on it and retard the timing at the strip when using nitrous.
I was hoping David would find this thread and chime in. N2O is somethin I don't know an incredible amount about.

Oh, Im not saying I know a lot about anything. I look at everything from a practical standpoint. I am also very conservative because of lack of funds. I have been a mechanic for over 20 years and have worked on a lot of different engines. One thing I have to remember that is common to all (except the Wankle style) is that vavles open and close and pistons go up and down to make an air pump. Each one has to be set up to perform the intended task. I know how to make as much performance as anyone dollar for dollar. I just feel that if it doesnt hold up over the long haul, it isnt worth it. I perfer a wet nitrous system for the simple fact that the injectors are not having to pick up the load. The A/F can be changed on the dyno with a $10 jet to suit your particular needs. Just dont run over about 125 hp or the dreaded nitrous backfire starts becoming a very real concern. Read your plugs often and listen with a keen ear (have someone who knows what to listen for) both inside and outside the car for any signs of preignition. The main thing is to have fun and meet your expectations (within reason and budget of course).
ok thank you... i do not know very much about nitrous.. i am only 18 and this is my first mustang... so any help woulp help me, but i have a cold fusion dry kit...
This is simple. Get a name brand that suits your needs, and RTFB (read the f**king book). This is mandantory where I work. Follow the instructions to the letter and you wont be far off.
RTFB is a rule of life for things that you've never done and have never seen done. It'll save a lot of time and possibly broken gear in the long run.
