First post here, and relatively new to the car tuner world.
I paid for my first car, an '01 GT last year, and haven't really done much to it. I bought a set of Steeda injectors and the car came with a Magnaflow system, so its already had a little work done to it.
Now that I have some more cash together, I'm really looking to pump this car up. I was thinking dual stage 2's, but I dont' know if i want to spend all the extra cash in rods, pistons, cams, and the such.
In everyone's opinion, what do you think the best way for an increase of 200-300HP would be?
Nitrous is cheapest way to get power..... i would put a 75-100 shot. Supercharger is more fun and is always there no need to pay for fill ups but the price is between 3-6grand depending on what supercharger you want.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'Dual stage 2's"
Easiest way to make tons of power is N2O, but there's a limit on how much you can spray on these cars. The other best way is forced induction, I love my KB setup. Any supercharger is going to give you massive returns though.

For all the HP above 400/450 @ the wheels you need a set of forged pistons and forged rods. The nodular crankshaft is fine.
First, you need to find out what kind of motor characteristics you would like to have:
High HP at high RPM? Then go with a centrifugal style SC
Low RPM torque? Then get a Roots (limited high rpm HP) or a twin screw (low to high RPM torque and HP)
This might help: 10= best, 1= worst
These points are subjectively - some people will say that I am completely off. If so, lets discuss it.
Kenne Bell
Driveability: 8 Cost: 2 Power Gains: 7
Paxton/Vortech
Driveability: 4 Cost: 4 Power Gains: 6
Single turbo
Driveability: 5 Cost: 3 Power Gains: 7
Twin turbo
Driveability: 6 Cost: 1 Power Gains: 8
Saleen Roots style (I think gen. 2)
Driveability: 7 Cost: 3 Power Gains: 5
Looks pretty acurate to me engineer. I wouldn't go so low on the running cost of nitrous, but I guess it depends on how much your spraying. Based on Bluestreaks dyno graphs, I would also say the KB has plenty of high end power, you just don't realize it because the low end torque gets you there so much quicker. With Centrifugals, you just feel it kick in more in the higher rpm's because of the lag. Anyone got a dyno graph of a procharged Stang? I would really like to see one and haven't had any luck on my searches.
You're right, Funky.
Usually the running cost for nitrous is monstrous in the beginning, because you use it all the time. And after the first couple of weeks, you don't use it that much anymore.
Oh yeah, there's plenty of top end power with a KB. Even more when you add on Long tubes, like the set I picked up this weekend

Awesome, so much for being legal ! So when are you replacing the bottom end?
BTW, the wife and I are planning a weekend trip down to VA Beach next weekend. If your around let me know, I'd definetly like to check it out before I place the order.
Yeah we'll be here. Gimme a call sometime Saturday and we'll get together at the show here in Va Beach. I'm not worried about being legal in Va Beach, the car is registered in NC and I'm moving back there in just a few months anyway.

Good breakdown engineer ..... but, if that's the goal (200-300hp increase) hope you have a plan to reach it.
Because a lot of $$$ and trust will be involved, got a shop in mind or do you plan to wrench it yourself?
