Default Front brakes!! Need some advice.

Feels like I warped my front brake rotors . I think I got 'em wet at one of my numerous trips to the car wash, I feel like an idiot... Anyway, to the point:

Rotors/pads. I don't do a lot of heavy performance driving, and I'm not interested in having to worry about changing cracked rotors often so drilled & vented rotors are out of the question (daily driver, would like to auto-x sometime this year). I don't think vented rotors are warranted for my driving style (yet), and again don't want to be bothered w/ having to change out pads on a more frequent interval.

What I want to know is whether or not (outside of vented/cross drilled) there is any rotor other than OEM worth buying? Pad suggestions? Maybe something that creates a little less dust than the ones I currently have (although I'm guessing a good bit of the build-up is a result of the rotors being out of wack).

I figured I'd give the rear brakes a look as well while I'm at it. I haven't looked yet but I'm guessing the dis-assembly of the rear brakes is probably a bit more involved and/or difficult than the front?

Thanks a lot guys.

For a DD I'd go with Motorcraft rotors, and OEM Ford pads. It is about the most comfortable application. Long lasting, no break noise.
For a slight upgrade, I'd go with Mototcraft rotors and hawk pads. But keep in mind, the Hawk pads don't offer the same rotor longevity!

I'd considered just upgrading the pads over stock rotors - probably go that route even though it will shorten the life of the rotors.

Thanks for your input - I appreciate it.

You can always do the Cobra brake upgrade like I did.....13" rotors in front, pads & calipers (grey or red).
?12?" rotors in rear, calipers & pads (red)...Solid rotors

This is the best upgrade stock.....

Definitely the best brake upgrade kit, but IMHO an overkill.

Last weekend, when I picked up my car in Germany, I had a couple of people pulling right in front of me when I was doing about a 120 mph. Slowing down to about 75 mph with stock brakes and about 800 pounds of goods in the trunk and on the back seats - no prob!
I had to slow down quite a couple of times and still no brake fading.

The stock rotors are fine - but if you have the "green" then go with the Cobra/Bullit style brake kit. It is absolutely mind blasting.

Do we have to replace any wheel bearings to replace rotors on these cars?

I'd planned on doing that at the same time anyway, I've heard it's a good idea on any car. Rather not have to dissassemble the brakes any more than I need to, can't imagine they cost that much - then again I haven't really checked.
