Default What tranny comes stock in 2000 GT?
I have a 2000 auto GT, and i believe it has an AODE, but my auto parts guy believed it was something else. a little confused any advice would be great!

I don't believe that Ford had any other automatic transmission that would mate to the 4.6 (truck transmission excepted) than the AOD-E at that time... The AOD/AODE also goes by the designation 4R70W, but it's the same transmission.

Yes, as stated previously, the 4R70W IS the only auto trans used with the 4.6 from Mustang up to F150 in 2000 and other years. If you are going to the auto parts store for a filter, I would suggest instead, that you go to the dealer parts dept. I've always used Ford filters and NEVER had a problem.
