Default Brand new car! My power steering fluid leaks??

Hi all. I have had my car for a week now. It looks like my car is leaking oil but they say it's power steering fluid. My garage floor has what appears to be oil...it's brown in color. The technician at Ford says it's power steering fluid. So I left my car there to get looked at and they say I need a new power steering rack. Is this possible and what is a power steering rack? Thanks for your help!!

Yes, these things can happen, but it is very unusual.

The power steering rack is what turns the wheels left and right when you turn the steering wheel. The seals were more than likely installed wrong or the case is cracked. This is what "Quality is Job #1" is supposed to catch. Disappointing, I know, but it can happen.

Good luck with your new ride!
