Default clean MAF sensor..

okay, its been a while but as soon as i install the ebay CAI. i clean the MAF sensor and temp sensor with carb cleaner. i read that stuff from a tech article that i found online. hell, i notice the difference right away. couple with the cai, its awesome stuff.. smoother idles (now it idles at 650 instead of 500 but the engine is real smooth), nicer gear changes (its an auto). overall its good. is there any other sensors that you can clean?? the car is 96 with 100k so i would imagine other sensors would be dirty or something. no check engine light though. thanks in advance

DOn't use carb cleaner, it'll harm the plastic housing.

Use Computer Contact Cleaner.

As long as the carb cleaner is wiped off immediately after use, it's fine. It takes quite a while for carb cleaner to breakdown plastic. Electrical parts cleaner does work like a champ though.

Quick dry electrical cleaner is the safest way to go!

The sensors are rather sensitive to any chemicals, most carb cleaners leave a slight oil residue. Brake parts cleaner and/or electrical cleaner would be a better choice, no residue, almost instant evaporation and are harmless to plastic.

I know this is an older thread, but thought it was worth revisiting. We all seem to be adding CAIs to our Mustangs, but them some of us seem to have problems with the car running rough and not at all. Hesitation, missing, etc. This is probably due to a dirty MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) in the intake. The previous threads mention several ways to clean your MAF, but a friend (BMW M3 owner) recommended Wurth as a source for a good cleaner that will not harm you MAF. I am trying to find a source for their Electrical Contact Cleaner (no residue). Any suggestions?
