Default Rear end on my 2000 GT off center

I seem to have a problem with my 2000 GT 5 spd. I installed Suspension Techniques Sport Springs on my GT. All corners dropped almost 2" except for the right rear. Didn't worry about it at that point, but I soon put on a new set of wheels and tires. Cobra rims 9" at front w/255/45R17's, 10 1/2" 315/35R17's rear. That's when I noticed the worst problem!! The rear end on my car appears (IS) 1.5 - 2" offset to the right.. I.E. my driver side rear sits in 1.5-2" and passenger rear sits out 1.5-2"..... Didn't really notice it with factory 245/45R 17's, but with that much meat on the rear it is almost a cartoon-like exageration. This looks like crap especially with the right rear sitting so high up. I have swapped left spring for right, put in new springs on the rear, put in a customized boxed in set of FRPP Upper control arms, and Dugan Racing lower control arms. Nothing helped. I took it to the dealer, and to a body shop to be checked on the frame machine. Everyone sees the problem , but can find nothing wrong. Anyone else ever had this problem???? HELP!!!!!!!

Are the control arm mounts on the axle welded at the right spot? could be off-center.

Thats all i could think of.

You didn't by chance get the wrong offset on one wheel did you?

Regarding the lean to one side. My car has been about 1/2" lower on the left rear since day one. Even after I lowered it. Thought I'd turn the spring to adjust the height. Nothing works. It was just the way it came down the line. I even had it to the dealer. Ford specs are over 5/8" and then they'll look at it.

Nope, pretty sure the offset on the wheels is correct. One of the first things I thought of when I put on the new wheels

Did you try puting the orig wheels back on? If you did and still has same problem, try puting orig springs back on. All parts made by aftermarket co's are not same, but within spec. You may have gotten one somewhere in menagerie of parts you installed that isn't perfect. I would try going back to orig setup and work from there. I realize that is time consuming and work, but unless you figured it out, I don't see another way to truely get to the root of the problem (if there is one).

If nothing wrong all the way around, you could always get one rear wheel with a different offset to compensate, but the height difference would still be present.

Good luck!
