Default Started my 4.6 into a 5.0 build!!

Hello all,

I have been away for a while but anyway I started my engine build after my 01,03 frankenstein engine bent a rod almost in 1/2 and I found half of a piston sideways in the bore of #8. So far I have my 4.6 engine block bored 20 over, and I have a 3.750 forged stroker crank, some probe 18cc dish forged pistons, and some probe 8550 forged I beam rods. I'm waiting for my heads to be done. Im having them do porting and polishing to the max spec on them. They made the intake and exhaust ports 1 mm bigger and they put in titanium valve springs, retainers and valve springs that will hold 7000 rpm's stable. I still havent had my cams made, but I will have those custom ground soon. Also, I ordered the new professional products 3 piece metal manifold that replaces our plastic ones, but it will flow about 50% more air than the plastic one, and I have bbk long tubes, bbk chrome metal valve covers, MSD coils, New ford racing 9mm sparkplug wires and a host of other stuff in the garage waiting to go on. The cars been down since feb so I can't wait. Btw itll be funny because my cars a 98 and I already had a 99+ engine in it so I can't wait to see what itll do with this new engine.

Let me know what you all think. And if anyone has a suggestion for cams let me know. Thanks, Andy

When you say the heads are being ported to the max spec, what exactly do you mean? Hogging out the heads on a N/A motor will actually cost you power as you'll lose intake velocity which is crucial to making low and mid range power. Also unless you go forced induction, the displacement of these motors says you'll never need to port heads drastically. I've heard of the new professional products manifolds. It looks like nothing more than a metal replica of the OEM piece so I'm somewhat leary of them flowing 50% more air.
