Default 40 series VS 40series delta flowmaster

about to get my exhaust (very first mod on this car), I'm trying to decide on 40 series original or 40 series delta flow. How much louder would the original 40 series be and which would flow better..Thanks for any help.

I had the 40 series delta flow mufflers on a 2001 gt and I loved the sound. I received compliments on the sound but did not provide much interior noise except at about 70 mph

Are you just looking for loud or are you looking for performance. Flowmasters are loud but not real good in the performance area IMO.

Check the specifications on a few mufflers and cat-backs before you really decide. There have been many posts on here regarding the different flow characteristics of the different mufflers.

With the 40 delta series, you will kinda get the sound of the original flowmasters but it will be much quiter in the cabin. With regular 40 series, cabin noise will be off the chart.

What is the differance between the delta force and the original? Is one a 2 chamber and the other a 3 chamber? Or are they both varyants of the 2 chamber?

The difference between the 40 series original and the delta flow 40 series is that the delta flow has more baffle or plate inside to quiet it down. I'm looking for an agressive sounding exhaust (not too loud ) with good flow.I guess something that sounds like a 40 series delta with the flow of a straight through muffler..

You will never equal the flow of a straight through muffler with a chambered muffler...I love the sound of my flows and have seen dyno charts with the flows welded into a stock system yield 8rwhp. I will try to find the link and post it up.
