Default My Pony is Running Rough

Hi Gang, having trouble with my 2000GT, Runs great when its cold, as soon as it warms up it starts to sputter and cough. Replaced plugs, new fuel and air filters. No codes coming up on OBD II. Fuel pressure is 30 psi at Idle. Any Idea's? With the exception of connecting to a diagnostic machine I am out of idea's.

Thanks

Default A few questions...

What mods do you have - what kind of tranny?

Lots of things it might be - have you done the IAC check? There's a sticky on this site that walks you through that. If you've recently moved it or swapped in a new plenum, etc, it may be damaged. It may also have failed just "because". They are famous for this.

If no joy, check the air filter, egr and tube - clean regardless.

If no joy, check compression on each cylinder and compare. Check/clean each plug as you go.

Check your wiring to each spark plug. Look for trapped water, cracks or breaks.

Check your MAF - have you recently messed with it? Blow it off with compressed air, and clean it with electronics cleaner (brake cleaner works in a pinch). Be GENTLE and careful - its delicate. Blow it dry.

Check your fuel filter - if its still the oe item and has never been changed, change it.

Put a few bottles of injector cleaner and premium gas through the system. See if this helps things. If switching to premium fuel helps, you're probably running lean or at least getting some slight detonation.

Luck!
