I have a Steeda Tri Axe shifter. If you take off all the trim, shifter knob, and the rubber cover. If you look at the bottom of the shifter, you should see a plate and set screws or bolts that adjust in and out. These bolts set the thghtness of your pattern, if they are adjusted in too far, the shifter isn't allowing throw to engage the gears in the
tranny. You didn't mention the year of the car. Mine is an 02 GT with a 3650 transmission. Some of the older ones may require you to get under the car and adjust linkage there, but most can be done from the top.
Good luck
Steve
