Default Need help with trans fluid and gear fluid

Ok i'm looking to do a trans fluid change. And a gear fluid shange.

I put 4.10's in about 21/2 yrs ago. I used Mobil 1 syn, i think it was like 90/70 or was it 140 over 70 i can't remeber does anyonw know? Also i used a tube of stuff with it to like prevent slip do i need to use this stuff again with a fresh fluid change.

Also i want to do my first trans fluid change what is a good trans fluid to go with is standard fine or should i use something better what brands are there to choose from being the best over the standard.

I have a 02 GT with about 30k miles.

Thanks in advance!!!

Any good synthetic will be just fine in the differential as long as it's the correct weight. I want to say that 140w70 gear lube is the correct stuff, I don't have my cheat sheet with me at the moment though. NAPA has an index of all that info, give them a call and see what they say. I believe your trsansmission actually calls for ATF. Might want to look around on AFM for a maintenance manual for it before actually doing the fluid change.

Yep, 140w-70 and friction modifier. I use Mobil 1 synthetic.

I have 410's in my rear end in my 98. Its stick, and in the rear I put royal purple 75-140, but 80-90's fine, and yes u need the friction ,modifier. In the tranny, stick or auto, you use mercon V fluid, the standard ford auto tranny fluid. I just use the valvoline stuff, it works great, when I first drained it I expected to see 80-90, lol I was all tripping. the t45's are really strong trannys lol 1 time i forgot to fill it right after doing a clutch job the night before the speedway and I ran it dry all day, and on the way home it started to sing to me and I was like oh crap, so I filled it and its been good for like 2 years. hawhawhaw.

Ok so i picke up 4 qurts of Mobil 1 synthetic atf tranny fluid. It says for auto on the bottle. I have a stick and i called my budddy who does the work on my car. And he said that it's fine you can use the ATF synthetic in 5spd? So i guess i'm good?

So you guys think the Mobil 1 tranny fluid is a good choice? I was going get the royal purple but i went with the Mobil 1 instead. Being i use Mobil 1 syn,oil

So i'm assuming the Mobil 1 syn ATF tranny fluid should be a top quality tranny fluid.
