Do i need a tuner for 4:10 Gears?

I am currently shopping for some 4:10 gears for my 97 GT automatic, i would like to know the best brand of 4:10s and i would like to know if i need to get a tuner? i am not sure what is better either diablo or the Xcal one? Thanks for your help

FRPP is probably the best out there. You do not need a tuner to recalibrate, just need to replace the speedo gear.

hey man blowbyracing.com - stationed out of florida - ford racing gears 4.10 for 140 bucks the cheapest I could find. get the bearing kit to man just good policy - also the girdle would be good too replace as well - trust me ive down a lot of research on it - thats why I dont have them yet saving the money for the gears, girdle, install kit, and tuner! this is taking forever!

You might want to think about getting 3.73's (if you plan to S/C or spray down the road). 4.10s are a pretty steep gear if you are blown. I would agree that FRPP makes the best gears. Also, get the xcal2, not the diablosport.
