Smile Reserve coolant looks black

My check engine light came on my '97 Mustang, so first thing I did was look under the hood. I noticed my coolant looked black.

I plan to get it flushed, but does anything think this is a serious problem? The motor doesn't sound rough, and it isn't running hot.

Of course, the check engine light is still on, so I need to find out what that is all about too.

If it looks like a chocolate milkshake, you've got some serious problems.

Probably a blown head gasket.

Yes, black coolant is bad, very bad. You need to check your oil quality and level immediately.
