Default how to adjust adjustable shocks

when i bought my 98 mustang gt it already had kyb adjustable shocks on it. i was just wondering does anyone know exactly how to adjust them? what are the advantages of having them compared to regular ones? because to be honest I don't even know what the different adjustment settings would do for the handling. any info would be really appreciated.

there should be a little knob or valve at the base of the strut......

if they are just regular air shocks there should be a air inlet with a valve cap.

My KYB's have a screwdriver slot and the top of the strut where it sticks out of the strut bumpers (or caster/camber plates if you have them). There are four settings 1 being the softest. To adjust them, use a small screwdriver and push down on the slot and turn until the dot lines up with the number on the strut.
They do make a big difference, I had mine set on 4 (the hardest) and had to turn them down to 3 b/c 4 was to rough for everyday use (I must be getting old)
I will dry to get a picture of mine today
