Default gt/cobra engine swap question

I have a 97 gt and a friend of mine has a cobra engine for this same year that he is going to sell to me. Before I go ahead and purchase it, what all am i going to have to change on my car to make this work. Is this going to be a lot of work or will it basically be a swap and go thing. what about the computer and such? I was originally going to put a supercharger kit on this winter but then i came across this great deal on this engine, so i figured i would get the engine, then put a supercharger on the cobra engine once it is installed. any info and thoughts on any of this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I thought of doing the same thing with my 98, and when I checked into it I found that it would take a LOT of modification and would end up being VERY expensive. Different wiring, different computer, on and on.

Bullsh!t. It will run off your existing wiring harness (need to lengthen the coolant temp harness and coil pack). It'll run off your stock ECU, but i do suggest getting an SCT tune.

It's an easy swap, provided you get all the accessories with it.

i dont have any knowledge about swaping engines but i do think that it would be a nice swap i would think it would cost a lil bit to get everything you need if you are gonna do the swap yourself but once again im not sure on the subject lol good luck tho

cool, thanks for the info guys.. just out of curiosity, whats a guess estimate on how much cash i will have to put into it if i go this route? do you think it would be a better alternative to just get the supercharger kit?
