There was definetly an increase in the SOTP meter, however, I was still having issues with my bypass valve. Now that I have everything worked out and retuned, I made 46 rwhp and 42 lbs-ft. more with the powerpipe and smaller pulley. I paid about $120 for supplies and filter to make mine, but there are a few companies out there that sell them for around $250.
I'd love the instant torque of a KB but like others, have $ to consider and also just got a new polished plenum/tb that I don't want to take back out. Plus the guys at the performance shop I go to are experts with Procharger installation and Predator tuning (which I already have) so that's a perfect situation. I'm hoping to get a P1-SC put on sometime next spring.
You think I'd need to replace my K&N FIPK using a Procharger, or could I keep it on?
thanks for the input guys, i am going to iraq for the second time, in october, i think i am gonna go with the KB when i get back after a year in the desert, i seen that KB went from the 1.7 to the 2.1, has anyone experienced the difference between the two?
I have the 2.1. KB says the power output is the same at 9psi which is what I am running. I think there is more there if you want get real radical though. I have never had mine on a dyno to verify that though.
At the same psi they will produce the same hp. The only thing is the 2.1 will not have to spin as fast to make the same psi. If you take a pulley off of a 1.7 and it produces 10psi put the same pulley on the 2.1 it would make more boost like 12psi.

As to answer the question to why the eaton blowers whine more than the kb blowers, in kb literature it says they cut the gears differently on the blower scrolls to create less whine, also the kb scrolls differ a bit in how they are designed as to the eaton/other roots blowers, its all there on the kennebell website,
I perfer the kb to the centrifugal myself.

Also the impellers in the KB are screw shaped. The Eaton has a 3 lobe design where there is quite a bit more meshing between the 2 different impellers.

I'm too lazy to put that much work into a motor for a street car mark. I want power the easy way, boost. Once I get to building the motor for my 83, I'll start getting nice and greasy, grimy and covered in metal shavings.

LOL, i was just kidding.
Metal shavings? You planning on some spun bearings
Nope, ported heads. Maybe shavings isn't the greatest word, but you get the idea.

The power instantly outta the roots type blowers are way nicer then the delay i saw from my procharger on my gt. Just my opinion but i would go KB over procharger.
I have a 06 gt with a procharger and now wish i would have put on the KB, it takes forever for the boost to build in the procharger and it's crazy loud when idling. however it drives like stock. Sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it.
i'm saving up for the kb s/c power gains in all rpms not just when it hits boost in high rpms
