Default rebuild or upgrade tranny

I was planning on selling my car and trading up for a cobra but, that thought is unfortinatley to far for my finiacial reach. So being that my tranny is about to go i was wondering whether i should rebuild with stronger parts or upgrade, and what should i upgrade too? im planning on a supercharger sometime in the future but nothing over 8 or 9 lbs boost.

If you think your tranny is about to go, take care of that first, especially if your planning on a supercharger.

Get a built tranny with stonger guts, ditch the stock Torque Converter as this is one of the weakest components in your system. Get a stall speed, beef'd up T/C, with your stronger rebiult tranny, and should handle your future S/C just fine.

I would go with the tko500 or tko600. The overdrive gears are about the same as the t-56. tko600 5th is .64 tko500 is .68 and the t-56 is .62. I like the gearing of the tko600 and the fact that it is stronger always helps.

You will need a new clutch and clutch bell I believe a couple more little things. The tko's have a short throw shifter already with them that works good, I bought a MGW shifter handle. with the t-56 you will have to buy a new driveshaft or shorten yours.
