I am thinking about buying bilstein shocks and struts for my 97gt. I am a little worried though, they say that they are adjustable and that they adjust on there own. I was also wondering if they make both shocks and struts, i think the ones i saw were only the struts. Does anyone know what kind of ride they give? Control and handling is important to me, but i am really looking for something that gives the car a awsome ride. Every time i hit a bump it is unbearable for me. Any suggestions? are bilsteins the best way to go, or are there something else that will give me better ride quality? Thanks

I think the BULLITT had Bilstiens stock. If so, they are a bit more firm than yours stock. Not beating you to death, but definately more firm.

bullits and mach 1s had tokico shocks and struts stock. 03-04 cobras had bilstiens stock. have three friends who run bilstiens and all three have great things to say about them and their ride quality. thats why a set of bilstien HDs and Bullit springs are on my wish list.

Have Bilstein Sports & Kenny Brown springs on my 96; ride is harsh. Have Bilstein Heavy Dutys & Eibach Pro springs on my 01 - ride is much better. Believe you'd get decent ride from Eibach Pros and either KYBs or Bilstein H/Ds. KYBs are cheaper. The Bullitt Tokico & spring setup is harsher.

yeah, the bullitt came with tokico from factory. if you want a really smooth ride quality along with performance, get the adjustable ones. i have tokico d-spec, 7 way adjustable, and they are really good. on the track they launch good and on the canyon runs they grip awesome. soften it up and the daily road is smooth. but also keep in mind the spring has a lot to do with ride quality too. have no idea what springs i have, i bought my car lowered, but i plan on buying mach 1 springs (or the bullitt ones, i forgot which ones lower the car more)

The best Mom-lady I could have ever asked for
I sure have plenty of good to say about my new setup... Tokico shocks, BBK lower control arms, and Eibach Pro Set springs. Handles like a rat in sneakers now.
