Default Fuel injection service? Ford Techs?

I have a 2000 mustang gt and with 70,000+ miles and was wondering should i have a fuel injection service done? My factory manual says not to have it done due to a throttle body protection coating and deposit free injectors? Throttle body gets gets carbon buildup and its hard to believe deposit free injectors. I would like to have the BG fuel service done.Any info is appreciated, thanks.

I had it done once back about 6 years ago when i had a '95 v6. I had it done at firestone. I couldnt believe what the service was. Literally the guy hooked some type of bottle( size of like fuel treatment bottle) up to the car and hanged it from the hood and ran the car off of that.
Then I remember him spraying like carb cleaner into the throttle body.
Some service- it was the same kit you can by at autozone and hang

I was so pissed when I saw thats what the service was- They tried to charge me like 75$ for that. I agrued my way into 35 and a free oil change on the spot since that was going to be next. I think the guy wanted me to stop making a scene since there are alot of old people that were getting their cars service and didnt want to deter business. Since then i just us the lucas fuel injector cleaner- hope this helps.

Pour a can of Seafoam and Marvel Mystery oil in your gas tank and save some cash.

That or my friend swears by having like 3 gallons of premium mixed with like 4-5 gallons of high like 105 test and running the car hard with that gas.

if you always use good gas, from stations like chevron, mobil, exxon, 76 and shell you shouldnt really need a fuel system service. we use the 3M injector cleaner as described in the first post at work, and let me tell you, that is the best way to do it. it goes directly in the fuel rail, and to the injectors. your car may not need it now, but it couldnt hurt. when i got my 5.0 that is one of the first things i did to it, and it made a noticable difference in idle quality, but my car did have over 200,000 miles. as for the throttle body service, if your gas pedal feels not as smooth as it was when it was new, then a tb service may be benefical to you. i would just do the throttle body service yourself (can of tb safe aerosol cleaner and rag) but the fuel system treatment needs a special hose to go on the fuel rail.

Even the good gas has carbon deposits in it. What you don't realize is that every manufacturers gas gets transported through the same pipe at the same time so the mix with each other. When you go to Exxon to buy gas, you are getting some Shell and BP gas with it.

I recently had a problem...my 'stang wouldn't get over 50 without shaking and "sputtering" if that's the word. Took it to the Ford Racing Shop and they coached me on the fact that the mustang I got a few months ago had the original fuel filter on it...however the car was 87k miles on it...should have been replace almost 9 times by now. I use Mobile 1 sythetic oil and he told me it would be a good practice to change out the filter every 10k miles during the oil change...back to the point,
I also had him do the injector cleaning (unhooked the fuel pump and ran the car off of the cleaner through the injectors). I was getting a CAI installed too while I was there and moved the car from one bay to the next...I could tell an automatic change in the accelerator. Between the filter and fuel injection cleaning/line cleaning, it cost me 225 bucks but it was well worth it I think. I would suggest at least doing this once a year (about every 4 normal 3k oil changes) based on research, advise, and personal experience.

ps...between the CAI and cleaning I'm getting about an extra 25 miles a tank on gas too! More horses and more money in my pocket!
