Question 4.6 dry nitrous... Totally confused!

Hey all!
Ok, here's my question. I am going to be getting a Nitrous kit from a fellow Mustang-ian off the classifieds, its a dry kit made by NOS, and here is my question.

After searching the forums, I have found that a lot of debate has occurred over the ability of a 4.6 even newer then mine being able to compensate for a dry shot of nitrous. HERE, here, and here is the link to the kit the fellow has, and I know it is for a 5oh, but he said with a new line it would work for mine. Seems very strait forward, so what do I have to watch for? Is it a total waist of time? what else would I need to make it work for me? Here is my setup on my 97:
1997 Mustang GT
126xxx miles
CAI, Plenum spacer
Accell wires and plugs
weld in flowmasters.
No Pi Swap

Thanks for any and all help, it is greatly appreciated!

I have never felt running a dry shot of anythgin over 50hp was safe on any motor. To me, it just seems to risky because you are relying on the short band O2 sensor to catch the lean condition because the Nitrous flow is not being metered by anythign else.

"The Ford EFI system is utilized to provide the needed extra fuel, providing complete reliability...) is what is says, does anyone know if the kit that I posted would supply more fuel?

Smile dry nitrous

Reguardless of which style, wet or dry, I recommend a bigger fuel pump, colder plugs (copper core for heat dissapation), colder thermostat, low fuel pressure switch, and maybe a window switch. I run a wet system because I feel the chances of one lean injector, or uneven distribution, is too great. A wet system will help with this. The only drawback to a wet system that I know of is the chance of the dreaded nitrous backfire. I have all of the above and more. You will not believe the difference.

Default Nos

I believe your system can easily be converted to a wet system with 1 more soliniod and 1 more line. Just contact NOS to verify this. Since you have a return type system, I would definetly go with a wet system. EFI intakes are notorious about unequal distribution of nitrous/fuel. Without mixed fuel, some cylinders will be lean or rich and there is nothing you can do about it ( well except with a NOSSLE system). A wet system helps with this as you can see.

Definitely take David's advice about the fuel pressure shutoff switch and window switch. There's no way you want to spray below 23-2400 RPM or above 5300 RPM or so. Spray too low and you can get the nitrous backfire from puddling in the manifold. Spray too high and you run the risk of not having enough fuel to match the nitrous and detonating.

Try the NOS website, they should have a list of authorized dealers or you may be able to order directly from them.

When I had Nitrous on my LT1, I got my fuel switch at Jegs. Try just calling them and telling them what you want, they can probably give you the part number and you can then look it up on the web. I dont remember it being too expensive.

You should use the msd digital window switch for your setup (its what i run) its in the jegs and sumitt catalog 121-8969 is the part number. I believe it also much cheaper and easir to use than the NOS brand switch If I remember correctly. No rpm pills to buy and swap out its all set with 3 buttons. I believe its 99 bucks

I would do it. But i would be cautious that your car does have 126xxx miles and that is bit much if you going to spray IMO. If you dont really care or feel that your car can take it then i wouldnt spray anything over 100 more like 50-75hp. I see your looking for sometype of power adder (the post with the cobra supercharger reminded me). good luck with w/e you choose to do.
