I got stomped by my wife lastnight in my mustang. She is driving my 350z and that car is sick. I need to know what I need to do to get there besides a s/c. What kind of performnace can I see with upgrading to foxlakes stage II heads? Would it be a good investment? She also raced an 07 gt and kicked his azz too are the z's that fast?
no, they arent suppose to that fast. My friend has a Z and we both did a bit of road racing about 1.5-2yrs ago and stock for stock in a striaght line from a stop-i would own him by 2-3 car length by 80-85ish. From a roll it would be plus or minus a car or dead even depending on who got more traction or the little edge. So your wife may have not gotten the full race out of that 07 gt. As for you, i dunno with your mods and your dyno u posted sounds like your cars not doing good if you lost- you should have had that one for sure
well i got beat by the 07 gt but im gonna take the z out to the track tomorrow and see what it does, because that was a complete surprise, also the 04 and 05 z's were rated to have less horsepower thatn the 06, the 04 and 05's were rated the same as the infiniti g35's which I dont have any problem stomping.

He's driving an 01 not an 07. That being said he's 40hp short of her 300, and shes 40lbs of his torque so from a roll he has no advantage, his best bet is from a standing launch where his torque is an advantage.
The 06 350Z 0 - 60 time is rated at 5.8 - 6.2 seconds compared to the 05+ Mustang GT being 5.0 - 5.4 seconds. Not much of a difference but must have been the driver of the GT. The Z is not faster then the GT.

Thats no excuse to lose to a stock Z. Besides stock for stock my 04 gt didnt have a problem taking a 03 Z from a stop and from a roll it would be close to even.

We all drive mustangs obviously, why not take out your frustrations on someone else. I scanned my dyno its there for the world to see. Get a life because both the cars I OWN would kick your azz anytime anyday, name the spot and we can settle this like gentlemen!!!!!!!!!!
a stock '06 350Z COULD take a Mustang GT. You all can post your stats and numbers and then deduce that a mustang should win. BUT, thats not the case. What happened wasn't on paper, was it? it was on the road. Now, given that statement, there is a huge deal of error. Notice, this wasn't at the drag strip, so the road surface plays in, along with any slope, moisture, tire temp, etc, etc, notice theres also no tree for a 'race'. That alone could be the reason why the Z won. or it could easily be that it is outright faster. So lets break this down. I'll make this simple, actually. o1 mustang gt = 260 horses. o6 350Z = 300some horses. PERIOD. That alone leaves a possiblity for tthe mustang to lose. Then theres the driver. End of story. The Z can compete with the SN95 and the S197, end of story.

No worries! In all honesty, an sn-95 GT doesn't have anything for a 350Z. On the other hand, the Z doesn't have much for a S197, stock for stock anyways!
