Default Valve Body Questions

Alrighty, So I have an automatic, and it's boring me now. Performance just isn't good enough. I want to be able to shift it myself nicely.

So i'm digging through a catalog at the bodyshop where I work and it was mustangs unlimited I think, either way under the automatic transmissions section I found Vavle Bodies. Not very familiar with at all.

So I see AODE Full Manual Reverse Pattern Valve Bodies accordingly they are designed with performance in mind, "have completely re-engineered fluid circuit(s) to eliminate inconsistent computer operations. Now the advantage of the AODE/4R70W transmissioncan be accesed by those racers without a computer! The "no flare" reverse manual body is complete and ready to install."

Blah blah, it goes on to say it requires fully manual shifting and no longer operates on automatic shifting allowing for higher line pressure and safe manual shifting of the automatic transmission.

Anyway, I have no idea esentially. I pretty much just want to be able to shift my manual transmission safely, and eliminate the automatic shifts.

Would this be what I'm looking for, or no?

If not how would I go about accomplishing full manual shifting in my auto?

summit offers one or was it jegs, either way, its a pa trans part and its a full street valve body that offers shifting in drive, but has similar properties when manually shifting. thats the one im going to use and its sells for like $250. the one your talking about would require manually shifting all the time. on trips i like to put in d and forget about it or when im trying to get good gas mileage.

First, you need a higher stall converter than stock. I run a 3000 rpm, which I might swap to a lower stall. I got mine from performance automatics. If you read my sig, it will tell you.

you can get a B&M shifter and that will let you shift manually, just like stock, but looks cooler. also might look into a shift kit, or a tuner to firm up the shifts.
