Default Why are my brakes still spongy?

I have really spongey brakes and I have bled them allot and am getting nowhere really fast. In the past the brakes had been changed and air got in the lines I bled most of it out. I changed them again recently but now they are worse and I cant seem to get the brakes tight again. when the brakes do catch, half way through the pedal movement, the front brake are almost compleately doing all the work. What would cause this. Is it the Master cylinder?

Try bleeding them again. This time let the reservoirs get almost completely empty and then use a brake fluid that is a different color than what's in there already, or put some food coloring in it so you know when you've completely bled them from the master cylinder to the caliper.

Bleed the master cylinder with this method. Pump the pedal and hold, open the front bleeder (on the MC), then close, open the rear bleeder and close, release the pedal. Pump pedal and repeat a couple more times. This should be the first step in bleeding your brakes before moving to the passenger rear, drivers rear, pass front, drivers front. If this does not help, look for other problems.

What fluid are you using? How old is the fluid?
