Default 1997 spark plug #2 seating problem

hello...I have a problem with my spark plug boot not seating right on the cylinder side. It sounds like it is snapping into place, but the boot sticks way out of the cylinder. It only goes in about half way. This is causing a misfire for #2 on the diagnostic. I have tried new wires, but the new wires were the same way. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? This is getting to be a pain, and im tired of seeing my check engine light on. Thanks for any ideas.

Default One and only one...

...boot won't seat properly on TWO different sets of plug wires?

Strange coincidence...

Or that plug is not in there all the way. Or maybe its top is not screwed down tight?

Or its the wrong plug?

If none of the above apply, use dielectric lube (generous) in the boot and check the terminal to be sure its not distorted or crushed. It HAS to start on the end of the plug to seat.

change out just that plug with a new one. maybe you cracked the ceramic or was already cracked when you put it in.
