I just git done installing some matrix lowering springs on my stang and wow was that easy. I have always herd that doing springs on like these are deadly when removing beacause they might pop out and kill you, but after doing them with out any experience in this field I see that this is almost impossible unless you doint perload the springs. I have never done this (nor had my helper Spy23714) and I took a whopinghour and 45 mins, and thats doing one wheel at a time. With that said I was worried that the springs were going to be crap because they are not a big name brand, but they are great. Body roll is alot less, The ride is more responsive with out feeling every little bump in the road, and when I put the pedal to the metal the rear doesnt squat down and send the nose in the air. Its much more controlable. All and all this is one of those upgrades that avery stang should have. Oh yeah and it doesnt look like a 4X4 thats ready to tackle the rubacon.

Nice... Great to hear that it was pretty simple. I hope to do the same to my stang some day.

Ill get some pics as soon as I can, it will probably look alot like yours carguy 1985 just not near as clean (I live down a dirt road). Did you install your c springs? And how much did it lower the stang?

Just wondering but did you use some sort of comression tool for your springs? Can you put lowering springs on your car just by taking off your wheels and then losen some nuts and bolts then pop them right in or what?

just out of curiosity, how did you take the springs off? did you take off the control arm (un bolted it from the knuckle)? if so...how the hell did you get the ball joint off? i tried doing that this weekend and gave up after spending about an hour just on the ball joint and then finally hurting my back, and the ball joint STILL didnt even get loose.

It didnt require doing anything with the balljoint. Here is the link to a how to. I did it just like it says.
Just follow these steps and you will have no problems. Save your money and dont take your car to a mechanic to install lowering springs.
And the only hard thing to do was re-installing the new springs. I did not need a spring compressor although it might have made a little more easy, but not necessary. I just used a pry bar and a buddy pushed on the spring with his foot. The only trick to it is to start with the top of the spring in the slot and pry it upward.

cool, thanks for the link. i kinda forgot to mention that in the process of installing the springs i had wanted to change the control arms too...
but ur right, for just the springs that seems like the right way to do it.

yeah, i pretty much have the complete 04 cobra suspension on my car now, minus the front sway bar. i had wanted to do the front control arms like i mentioned earlier, but i just couldnt get that ball joint off the knuckle. now it seems like its too high for me, but it looks like its settling down some, so it doesnt look that bad anymore (tho it still looks like im ready to do a baja run). if its still too high i might just take out the springs and go back to the stock insulators, and its still too high ill start cutting coils. heard the cobra springs react pretty good to cut coils

I was kinda worried to do the springs on b-raupe's car and now that we're finished, we're doing mine next week. It was really easy! Like b-raupe said, put the top in first and try to wedge the bottom side in, all you need is a pry-bar and a buddie with a foot (those aren't too hard to come by). That's the only tricky thing, otherwise it's a very very easy install.
