If you purchased additional transmitters (up to four may be programmed into memory), perform the following procedure:
To reprogram the transmitters yourself, place the key in the ignition, and turn from OFF to ON four times in rapid succession within 3 seconds. After doors lock/unlock, press any control on all transmitters (up to four). When completed, turn the ignition to OFF.
All transmitters must be programmed at the same time.

Based on the above, I suspect you do that procedure, and program both the original transmitter, aswell as the new one.
You manual may hold exactly the same information, so I'd check that first. Especially since the construction year may (or may not) see some differences.
