Default Odd noise.. Transmission? clutch?

i noticed this morning when i started my car and put it in first gear and started to take off, there was a strange sound that came from the tranny or clutch or something. not really loud, yet noticeable. it sounds almost like something grinding or turning under the car and it would only do it as i accelerated. i did notice that it was more noticeable in 1st and 2nd although that could be due to the fact that in 3rd the car is a bit louder so maybe it just drowned it out a bit more or something. i also noticed that after the car warmed up it seemed like it went away. any suggestions as to what this might be before i start to take things apart tomorrow?

could be a bad t/o (throw out) bearing, depending on what i sounded like. kinda hard to figure it out without hearing it tho
