Default what is the 7 & 8 cylinder cooling fix for 4.6 heads

My 96 GT blew a head gasket recently and since I'll be doing a PI upgrade soon I keep reading about a cooling fix for the 7 & 8 cylinders; could someone enlighten me please on what's this for? any help would be appreciated, thanks!

It's a mod that fixes the low coolant flow problem to the #8 cylinder by taking advantage of a freeze plug on the rear of the head. It's not incredibly complicated but I can't remember right now exactly how it's done. Normally it's only really needed on a motor putting out over 500 crank horses, anything less than that and the coolant system is just fine as designed with a 180-160F thermostat and radiator upgrade. When I get home from work I'll try to look up some articles and pics to post links to for you.

Yep... it replaces the freeze plug in the back of the head, and entails installing a tube off the back of the head, that T fitting into the crossover tube off the other heads, and into the heater hose.

This allows coolant to flow across both cylinders, greatly reducing the chance of detonation.

I have the Head cooling mod... for the 7 & 8 heads.. but, this was a mod that came out for the Terminator Cobras?

http://www.lightningforceperformance...mod-p-547.html

That's the head cooling mod, but it says they're all for Cobras or Mach 1's?

Thanks pal! I've added the site to a folder I'm making about potential mods when installing the PI upgrade, even if it list's DOHC engines I'll give them a call to see if it will work on SOHC engines. thanks man, really appreciate the heads up.
