I read the Cat-Back Exhaust system shootout.

I not sure what my 1997 mustang 4.6 convertible has on it right now but I'll check it out. I haven't owned a mustang since 1969 and that was a 1965 289cu.

I'm going to make some minor mods to the car such as the K

I put on a BBK X pipe. My check engine light did not come on like everyone said it would. Big power incease. The stock mufflers sound like flowmasters. Headers are a BIG pain to install. Happy motoring.

I have a 97 Mustang GT Convertible with Bassani X-Pipe (with cats) and Bassani Quiet thunder cat-back. I love the sound. I cannot say for certain if performance really improved. I don't run the 1/4 and didn't dyno it before or after. It "felt" like it had more pep from 2500rpm on up.

With the convertible I leave the baffles in. Without the baffles the car was REALLY loud inside the car. (i can only imagine what the people behind me were thinking)
