Today i was sitting in my car listening to the radio with my driver side window down and the passenger up. I went to turn the car off and put the windows up and my driver side window won't go up. When i hit the switch i hear a click in the dash and the interior lights dime, like theres power going to it but its not going up.

Sounds like the motor crapped out or the switch. Depending on what u are running on that circuit u may have blow a switch,fuse or relay.

Check the regulator first.

I have a similar problem. My drivers side power window will get stuck in the down position and it will not go back up. This is an intermittent problem and I have yet to diagnose it. I ran several tests:

- Checked the voltage to the control switch (is about 12volts = ok)
- Swapped the passenger side switch with the Driver side switch (passenger side would go up, drivers side would not). Concluded both switches work.
- Ran a jumper wire (20 amp fused) from the battery to the window/regulator motor. The window did not move (voltage of jumper wire was checked and = 12volts). I figured the regulator motor was bad after performing this test.

I started to remove the motor and was unable to because the window was stuck in a down position. I hooked the motor back up (after loosing the three screws that hold the motor) and the motor worked. It rolled the window up. The window is working now but unfortunately I have yet to solve the problem. So far I believe it could be one the following:

- GEM (generic electronic module) - possible cause
- Regulator Motor - Likely Cause
- Window Regulator binds - Likely cause

This seems like a common problem in Mustangs. Please let me know if anyone had the same problem and diagnosed it. Thanks.
