Default Power Window Problem

The driver side window of my '96 GT is having problems. It normally goes up and down smoothly but once in a while when it goes down the whole way, it won't go back up. The first time I took the door panal off checking the switch and that was okay. It finally went up without me ever pinpointing the problem. The second time it got stuck and later that day came back up. The third time it didn't go up till then next day. All of the other switches are working fine. Do I need a new motor? I'd hate to spend the money if that's not the problem. Please help! (p.s. this is my first time posting ...sorry if it's long, wanted to get the details in)

welcome to the site, and i would check all the wires leading to the motor/switch before you buy the new motor, but to be honest i think it would be a better idea to just replace the motor now. also...try replacing the fuse. i know it sounds like a weird idea, but the same thing happed to my power seat. for awhile it had acted a little funny and it wouldnt go up or down, just front to back. afew hours later it would work fine, then a few days later it would be back to the same thing. finally one day it just went out on me all together, checked all the fuses and everything was fine. months later when i go to finally get it replaced, the new (used off of ebay) seat track doesnt work either...i check the fuses again and sure enough one is burned out. replaced it and now both seat tracks work perfectly. and yes, i checked the fuses, i had my fried check them, and i had his dad (mechanic) check the fuses and switches and everything and we concluded it was the seat track because we never found a blown fuse.
