Default Theft light problem please help!!!

today i bottomed out on a pothole on the ground, and now my car won't start, it just turns over and turns over. i looked under the car and noticed that all of my rear 02 wires for the drivers side were split open, but not separated.... so now whenever i try to start it the theft light just blinks and it won't fire... please help

is their a lockout or something that i need to release. or someway to reset everything!!! help!

i've already foudn out the problem, its not getting gas, i need to either change the relay or get a new fuel pump. i have no idea how to do either of those. like it usaully makes a little noise whenever i turn the ignition on it makes a little buzz and you can hear the fuel pump prime the line..

so i could definately use a diagram of some sort or someone that has had this happen to them before. thanks!

i take it you are talking about your 98 gt, right? there is a fuel reset switch that cuts power to the pump durring an accident, if the jolt from the pot hole was big enough, it could have activated the switch. check in the trunk, on the left had side (drivers side), around the tail light area, there should be a red button. press that and try to turn it on again, see what happens.

ok, have you already tried checking all the wires that go to the fuel pump? none of them got cut or loose or anything? none of the fuel lines are pinched?

nah, didn't try that. but i've hit holes worse then that, maybe with those wires being exposed it caused a surge. popping the relay.. where is the relay located or is it a fuse??

damnit, i forgot one important thing.....the theft light. that will also kill the fuel pump because it thinks you are trying to steal the car. are you using the right key? (i ask because one time i got super pissed at my car for not wanting to turn on, then i realized i was using the f-150 key instead of the mustang key).

it seems to me that you have activated the PATs on the car, if you arent familiar with it its the Passive Anti Theft system, which if the electronic code emitted from the chip in the key doesnt match the code in the ECU, the fuel pump wont start and the "Theft" light starts blinking. maybe the jolt messed up the ECU??? if you have a tuner, try turing off the PATs and try it again. if not, you might have to take it to the deal to have them re-program the ECU to the keys.

ps. taking out and replacing the fuel pump is easy, just try to do it when the tank is nearly on empty. 2 straps hold the tank to the car, and the fuel lines need the special fuel/a.c. disconnect tools ($5 at autozone) to remove them. take the screws off, and the pump pops out.

im not sure where the fuel pump relay is, but i think its in the fuse panel inside the car (dont quote me on that tho, might be in the one under the hood)

nope, you have to access the ECU to turn off the PATs. the diablo tuner can only be used with one car, or so i think. i know the SCT tuners can be "unmarried" from the original car it was used on and it can work on another car, but dont think the diablo tuner has the same feature.

check fuse #16 (20Amp) and #18 (20Amp).

if that is good then pull the codes.

you'll need a OBDII scanner.

You can you the predator on multuiple cars. Your friend will just need to reinstall the stock tune on his car. you can then use his predator on your car. It takes all of 3-5 minutes to download the stock program. You will not be able to install a tuneon your car but you can use the code scanning
