damnit, i forgot one important thing.....the theft light. that will also kill the fuel pump because it thinks you are trying to steal the car. are you using the right key? (i ask because one time i got super pissed at my car for not wanting to turn on, then i realized i was using the f-150 key instead of the mustang key).
it seems to me that you have activated the PATs on the car, if you arent familiar with it its the Passive Anti Theft system, which if the electronic code emitted from the chip in the key doesnt match the code in the ECU, the fuel pump wont start and the "Theft" light starts blinking. maybe the jolt messed up the ECU??? if you have a tuner, try turing off the PATs and try it again. if not, you might have to take it to the deal to have them re-program the ECU to the keys.
ps. taking out and replacing the fuel pump is easy, just try to do it when the tank is nearly on empty. 2 straps hold the tank to the car, and the fuel lines need the special fuel/a.c. disconnect tools ($5 at autozone) to remove them. take the screws off, and the pump pops out.
