Default fluid capacity and where to fill 5 speed tranny?

I have a 02 GT 5 speed, do guys know how much is the fluid capacity of the manual tranny and where do you fill it? Last time I was under the car all i could find was the drain plug...any help would be greatly appreciated..

I put in 6 quarts of fluid and i spilled a little bit out of the tailshaft, so 6 was plenty. I used Mobil1 some good highy quilty sysnthetic stuff it was like $5/quart. and you fill it in the tranny. I filled it in where you put the stock shifter in 5 speed. Any more questions just let me know

You shouldn't be using any fluid at all. To check the level you need to have the car jacked up evenly at all four corners. On the passenger side of the car you will see two bolts with a hex head in them that accept a 3/8" drive rachet. The lower bolt is for draining and the higher one (and slighly to the right of the drain) is for filling. If you have a pump you can pump fluid in but I find it easier to pull the shifter off from inside the car and fill from the top. When you get close to the recommended fluid level check the top hole and it will start to come out that is when you know it is full.

If you are hearing noise you could have a tranny fluid issue. Too little or the fluid may be bad (broken down, dirty..whatever). Also note that you dont use gear oil as in older manual trannys, in these you use automatic tranny fluid.
