I do not know all of the particulars. Ford will replace it upto 6 or 7 years I think. If they do not email me, I have a spare or two around for this purpose. I would not count on them replacing it. It seem like my breakdowns happen when they are closed.
My buddy had the intake blow on his mercury and ford fixed it for free. it was a 96 mercury grand marquis. The intake blew when we were driving back from a good guys show. It blew coolant everywhere.
YES there ius what they call a "silent recall" on the 4.6 PLASTIC intake(why did they ever do that anyway). mine blew in the middle of a rain storm...it cracks across the front where the collant passes through. what a mess!!!!! Ford replaced mine for free which included removing and reinstalling my strut tower brace(my father works for a ford dealership in massachusetts). the new intake is coated with metal across the stressful area...so far so good!!!! dont even bother looking for an aftermarket intake...there is only two...the bullit and a frpp unit which incdes a 6 lb. roots style superscarger....very expensive!!!!..well i hope i was some help to you wildstang!!!!!!

My stock intake is fine. I looked on the Ford Motorsport website catalog and only found one intake. No prices. Im just thinking of the different ways to improve performance from 97. Say Badass, how did that Steeda timing adjuster work out for you? Are you running any kind of spark enhancer? Im thinking of losing my Superchip and going to the wheel.

This is not a recall, it's called and Owner Notification Program or ONP.
All owners should have recieved a letter. The manifold must be leaking to get it replaced. That's the difference, a recall replaces all parts weather you expierence the problem or not. An ONP give the owner extended coverage it he has the problem. It is covered for 7 years regardless of mileage. RAY
