You might have a problem generating 10psi through a 5/8 inch hose when a 1/8 hose is meant to be used if you were tapping into the Vortech oil pan location...

Since you are not, of course, it all depends on the pump you are using, and what size inside diameter hose it is meant to use at its rated output.

It will also result in a LOT more oil flow than a "mist", but so long as it keeps flowing (ie, the drain is capable of handling the amount of oil being pumped into the chamber) it shouldn't be a problem. If you use the same diameter hose (with no kinks or obstructions), your plan should be OK.

Just my thoughts - I'm pulling for you to make it work!

The fittings needed are readily available if you want to tap into the oil pan.

As for concerns for originality (of the car?), that's going out the window with the blower, of course.

I'm convinced the plan will work - but that fabrication skills will determine whether or not it survives. I'm betting you can pull it off - make some sturdy brackets for all the gear - solder your electrical connections - and be patient fitting all the parts, as this sort of creative fabrication can require considerable trial and error.

Get the car to a good tuner ASAP, of course.

Thanks for the support black.

Yea I do have the stuff to tap the pan, but thats not the direction Im going... slight headach today though

I think it will work too, the idea of the supercharger fact of it wouldn't be original, of course, ask FM2KGT

But the way it will work will be different. Speaking of which, the hose for both the supply and return of the oil will be 3/8ths, or 1/2. I think Ill make the supply slightly smaller then the return, to keep pressure up. I was thinking 5/8ths at first, but its just too big for the small amount of oil needed.

I was just saying you could put that time, effort, and money into other aspects of the setup since you were missing so much. Then again, it's your car, money, and project, do as you please and best of luck to you.

Man if you use a supply line so much bigger than the return line, you're going to flood the gear case of that blower with oil and it will no longer be a mist, but a bath.

You didn't, exactly. It just looked that way.

Make sure your lines steer clear of anywhere that gets real hot, of course. Use hard lines to make any extreme turns (folding a rubber hose can result in oil backing up or starving).

Be generous with your cooling - anything to cool that oil down before it goes into the blower will be a plus - there are some small in-line coolers out there that are pretty cheap (Summit carries several).
