Drive it for 10-20 minutes, let it cool for a few hours. You can knock it out in 1 day if you want, or commute to work for 2-3 days, driving easy.

I was told 500 miles to be safe.

Drive the car 5miles then let it cool down for 30minutes. Do that 4 or 5 times and you will be good to go.

Fvck that... give it hell 3-4 times, let it cool off COMPLETELY. Then you'll have no problems at all.

I agree on engine break-in, drive it 30 minutes change oil and filter then drive it like you stole it for another30 miles, change oil and filter and go on with your life. Hasnt failed me yet. The old man that taught me engine building liked to "set" the cam by holding it at 3500rpm for about 2 minutes then rapping it to 6500 a couple of times. Thats it. Granted todays metal is softer and I know the oil of today is anything but what your engined needs.

FRPP sells sets that are original Ford gears, that don't have the pinion depth stamped into them.
Part# M 4209 G410 A (FRPP 4.10s) is what I have, and what I would recommend. I could have saved about $30 buying Motives, but did not want to risk getting "the whine". After all, $30-$40 bucks is less than a tankfull of gas.
