My name is Dean and live across the pond in the UK. I have a 2004 Mach 1 in screaming yellow.
I have had a Tremec TKO500 fitted last year of which is seems terrible. I believe it to be a faulty unit. Rattles really badly, getting louder the fast you go.
That is the exact same problem I had with my tko600. TKO had a t-rex shifter on it and the more rpms the more and louder the rattle. I pull that shifter off three times looking for the problem. I finally ordered a MGW shifter and problem went completely away. Trans has been quite for over 3 years now. Money well spent and I highly recommend going mgw.
I have a TKO600 behind a built, cam and stroked 2v with a d1sc for reference.
I bought the trans used locally and he left the t-rex on it. The more rpms I pulled, the more you could hear and feel the rattle when hand was on shifter.
Now this fixed my problem completely. Make sure you double check your shifter install like shifter ball is properly seated in plastic cup in trans, all bolts tight and shifter stops adjust before placing a order to mgw. You will be well pleased with it.
Let's hope it fixes it. Do you think its solved your issue or just masked it though i.e.e do you think it was shifter rattle as opposed to a trans vibrations being amplified through the shifter?
