1996 mustang GT Heater not working properly

Well its a little chilly in cali so a week ago i went to turn on my heater. It blew out air but not hot air which i had it set at. occasionally it will be somewhat warm but it will go back to cool, not cold air. i checked all of my inside fuses and they all checked fine. i plan on checking my vacuum lines going to the heater unit. Is there anything I should check.

Check your heater core for proper flow.

checked my vacuum lines and pushed the connections together and then it worked. I dont think that is the remedy but it works now. thanks for the idea.

well im still having problems with the heater. it warms up but only when i run the heater on MAX A/C for a while. How is the possibility of the factory vacuum lines cracking? or the controls for the a/c malfunctioning?
